Build a $5000 Summer Cabin

Wow! Nice little cabin kit here. Sometimes it’s not the size of the cabin house that really stands out. In this case, the size is doable, but even more important, maybe, is the layout. They make a good use of the limited amount of building materials in this inexpensive kit house.

Particularly nice is the canopy. The cabin itself is one room, basically enough for a couple or even a family if you consider it like camping out. And this cabin could also serve as a guest house or granny flat on the same property as your house, or, if you have a large property, a separate house in a different part of the property, to get away to.

This is the Jacob E Summer House by Casetas de Jardin. They sell these for around $5000 (their price is in Euro’s, so the conversion bounces around a lot between 4-6k, US. Anyway, it’s around $5000 ballpark as a starting cost. Installation is around another $1000, if you don’t want to set it up yourself.  Note that even though this particularly cabin kit might not be sold from your market, if you’re in the US, there are plenty for around the same price in North America. This just gives an idea of what you get for the price, as well as we wanted to show this one because of the nice layout, and you can easily picture how you could turn this kit house shell into something that looks great.
