We’d like to introduce you to the wonderfully unique design in tiny houses by Lexa Dome Homes. We’ve seen quite a few tiny houses, and while many of them find a way to put a new twist on the whole movement, we hadn’t come across one that’s round until the Lexa Dome House. This innovative dome shaped design measures 540 square ft and constructed using arching cedar wood shingles as opposed to the traditional stick-built framing most commonly used in the past in dome house construction.
The Beehive dome house featured in the gallery of photos below includes an open concept kitchen with large center island that seems to flow nicely into the open and spacious living area. The home includes two bedrooms as well as a full size bathroom with tub and shower. The most advantageous feature truly about this dome shaped design is it’s towering ceilings that could potentially allow for future expansion of a 2nd or 3rd floor addition.
And, for those of you who are passionate with regard to the environment, you will be pleased to know that the Lexa Dome Houses are constructed using recycled and refurbished materials whenever possible. The flexibility of this design could also lend it itself to be used as an added recreation building, garage or home workshop.
