Bowl-shaped Roofs Collect Rainwater and Provide Natural Cooling

Everyone who has rented or owned a home knows how costly cooling a house can be. It is a major bill. Well, innovation has provided the homeowner with the bowl-shaped roof. This is quite an unusual look but it serves a great purpose, and that is to collect rain water and help keep the home cool in a natural way. The bowl-shaped roof can go with most building shapes and styles which makes it something that most home builders and home buyers can take advantage of. There is such a problem with water sources these days, with some places terribly in need of water. This roof style is a way to help by way of nature, by collecting rainwater.

The bowl-shaped roof also serves another major purpose and that is to help those who live in areas where precipitation is low, so a homeowner may be waiting months for a good full rain. In the States, New Mexico and Southern California come to mind as places that have much more sunshine than rainfall. This roof is designed to collect the rain water in a certain way in which it gathers in a specific area of the roof to be captured instead of rolling off back into the earth. It is steeply sloped to  move the rain water towards the center of the roof.
