Family of 4 lives in experimental urban greenhouse home

Try Living in Experimental Urban Greenhouse Home

A Dutch family is trying an experiment that not many of us will get an opportunity to try. They are living in an urban greenhouse. May sound strange, and of course it is unusual, but considering all the alternative living spaces these days, it was really the next thing coming down the pike, as the saying goes. The area this family lives in does not supply them with natural greenery, so living in a greenhouse environment is a plus for this family and others who will try this experiment, not just in this climate, but in other climates that do not naturally grow their own greenery.

The mother  of the Scholtens, the family involved in this experimental project, would have a great interest since she is a botanist who uses her botanical education as a designer and decorator. Her skills will heavily come into play as she lives in a home that is designed to grow greenery. The experiment will last three years and the Scholtens will live in the home full-time. The house was designed by students at Rotterdam University.
