Shipping containers, due to their strength and availability (as used purchases) have been having a continued effect on the world of house building. Everything from tiny homes to large mansion-like ones are built using shipping containers. This one here is pretty big, too. It’s a simple layout. But wouldn’t you say the large elements — shipping containers — were used pretty decently?
Recently I came across this interesting company that is compiling lots of shipping container house designs into a pdf downloadable book, called, you might have guessed it, “Container Home.”
This one is a 7,200 square feet hybrid shipping container home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, built by owners Martha Mosely and Bill Mathesius.
“Inspired by an abandoned concrete Foundation left on their land after a botched, unrealized construction project of its previous owner, Martha and Bill envisioned, designed and managed the construction of this spectacular 7,200 sqft home manufactured from eleven recycled shipping containers
“Situated on ½ an acre the contemporary structure takes full advantage of the spectacular views of the Delaware River in Bucks County Pennsylvania.”
