These Smart student units developed in Sweden are going to be a prototype for many around the globe. They are specifically designed for students to be able to live in a comfortable but modern environment. Unlike dorm living where one can easily be distracted from their studies, these Smart tiny houses leaves a student the room and atmosphere to concentrate. It is also a way to achieve the feeling and gain the responsibility of living alone.
Besides being functional and designed perfectly for students, the houses are really attractive, clean, modern, and those living away from home for school will find these tiny homes to be a lovely home away from home. The house has an odd shape, a little like a square box that ended up with a slanted roof, and when it’s all closed up, it is also very private.

The project is a collaboration with wood manufacturer Martinsons and real estate company AF Bostäder. To meet the needs of students in a sustainable, smart and affordable way was the key questions when Tengbom in collaboration with students at the University of Lund was designing this student unit of 10 square meters. The unit is now displayed in Virserum Art Museum. In 2014, 22 units will be built and ready for students to move into
