This shipping container home came from an episode of National Geographic. Does anyone recognize it?
It was built in Vermon by Paulie DiMeo and Pat “Tuffy” Bakaitis, co-owners of the Cabin Kings, two people with different ideas of the benefits of shipping container homes.
One difficulty involved was getting the container up the hill to where the site was. And getting it into place also takes some skill, as anyone who ends up watching the show will see. Because of it’s out-of-the-way location, there’s no grid power, and they light the build site with a generator.
As you can see from the photos, everything worked out, and the interior of this shipping container is like a wood cabin. It also has an elevator to the lookout deer stand, and has wood railings (birch). So there are some special touches added by the Cabin Kings crew.
