This Metal Home Ranch House is Amazing, but the Real Star is the Interior

This Metal Home Ranch House is Amazing, but the Real Star is the Interior

Many people think about having a house out on a farm, and some of us already live out on farms and ranches or large pieces of land. Barn houses and metal homes both are seeing something of a surge of interest lately. Metal homes as an alternative building method that allows for inexpensive, strong and durable buildings that can also be reused, recycled or modified later on, and barn homes are a traditional style of building people are liking for their own homes.

Here we have a combination of both, and not only that, they added wood and stone work to create a livable space that might catch some eyes. The metal barn home here is designed and built by a company we’ve featured a number of times here on our site: Morton metal buildings — they do a number of different building types. And the job they’ve carried off here is one that I think will catch a lot of attention: a traditional rustic-style farm house that combines residential with equestrian areas.

You can see from the photo above and those below (all the photos on our website expand when you click them) that the interior of this metal building home is also a comfortable, traditional style. You can see that they’ve covered most of the building in wood cladding and some of it in stone work, including that outdoor seating area in the photo. But looking at the interior shots, I think a lot of you might agree that the interior work on this ranch house metal home is the real star of this construction project.

How About A Metal House Ranch Home?

How about a Metal House Ranch Home

This is quite the building and quite the setting, too. In a wide open piece of green farmland sits this newly built traditional style metal barn house. Metal homes as an alternative building method that allows for inexpensive, strong and durable buildings that can also be reused, recycled or modified later on, and barn homes are a traditional style of building people are liking for their own homes.

And the job they’ve carried off here is one that I think will catch a lot of attention: a totally deep red-clad farm house, with white and black trimmings, that combines residential with equestrian areas, under a forest green shingled roof.

You can see from the photo above and those below (all the photos on our website expand when you click them) that the interior of this metal building home is also a comfortable, traditional style.

Metal Building Kit Homes by Mueller

Metal Buildings November 22, 2016

Looking at companies for your next build can be overwhelming. Its hard to choose the right one. You want a company who is reliable, has a positive reputation, provides quality work, and doesn’t leave you broke. Don’t lose hope, they do exist. Here is an example.

Mueller, Inc. is a metal building, roofing, and component company born and bred in Texas. The company is eighty five years old and has grown from a small local operation to a total of 33 branches, some of which are outside the longhorn state lines. You can see from the expansion that the company has met success with its endeavors. Here are some reasons why.

Beauty. With Mueller roofs, you can choose from a wide variety of attractive designer colors.

Durability. Metal roofs last much longer than both composition roofs and wooden shingles.

Weather Resistance. Mueller roofs offer superior protection from wind, hail and fire.

Longevity. Mueller offers limited paint warranties up to 30 years. Your roof will look fresh and vibrant for decades.

Energy Efficiency. Because of their high-tech coatings, Mueller roofs may help lower your air conditioning and heating bills.

Insurance Savings. Insurance companies may offer discounts up to 35% for homes with Mueller metal roofs. Check with your insurance agent.

Low Maintenance. Install your metal roof and then forget about it.

Environmentally friendly. The recycled content of steel in metal roofing is much higher than the recycled content in asphalt shingles. Plus, because a metal roof weighs less than shingles, it can often be installed directly over your existing roof, saving the environmental as well as financial costs associated with removal and disposal.

Mueller, Inc. uses these points to show potential clients why they are a good choice. Everyone wants their property to look good, but Mueller, Inc. takes things a step further by providing a structure that is more durable and cost efficient for long lasting customer satisfaction! They even manufacture their own materials so they can ensure that each customer receives quality products. They manufacture 26 gauge steel which is 33% thicker than the industry standard. This is done to decrease the waviness commonly seen in metal roofs, and is also a great way to prevent hail damage!

Overall this company has shown its reliability in its eighty five years of service to it’s community. Its growth is proof that is has a positive reputation that has expanded far beyond its original base. They ensure quality products by manufacturing their materials themselves, and beating the industry standard for steel. They even work in a way that is meant to give you the very most for your money. Energy efficient builds and low maintenance upkeep mean that the money you spend with Mueller, Inc.  is going to last for many years. Insurance savings are even a plus for some customers! Here is proof that the “right” company does, in fact, exist!

Metal Building Home for a Couple or Small Family

Houses, Metal Buildings October 3, 2016

A home is supposed to be cozy and warm. It is where we celebrate our holidays with family and invite our friends to get together. So why are people opting for a metal home?!

Here’s why. Steel is sturdy. Metal buildings require the specialty of an engineer. An engineer who will carefully consider the location of a home before building. So if you are someone who will receive a large amount of snow in the winter, or strong winds during the year, you don’t need to worry about your roof caving in or a piece of your home being torn off. Your metal home will use bolts to connect its structure whereas a wooden home uses nails.

A metal home is also environmentally friendly. Wood comes at the cost of many trees, but the steel used for a metal home has often been recycled. If you are familiar working with “fixer-uppers” then you will appreciate that metal buildings do not require any load bearing walls. You can take down any wall you’d like to create a more open space at any time. The best benefit to a metal home, and arguably the most desirable, is the freedom from termites. Every home owner can understand the fear of these little pests damaging their home, but a metal home owner will never even have to worry about it!

Now that you know the structural benefits, you may be thinking how uninviting a steel home might be, but you’re wrong. A steal home can mimic a wooden home in style. You can see this design chosen for ‘Rod’s Cabin’ by Morton’s buildings in the pictures provided. The exterior can look warm and inviting with the use of paint or other materials such as brick for coverage. You could also choose to show off the steel and create a chic, modern space with high ceilings and large windows. The interior can match the exterior in either case.

There is no need to give up your style for the practicality of a metal home, and your design will not diminish it’s benefits. So if you find yourself building your next dream home maybe its time to think a little harder and go with metal rather than wood.

Approximate price for these buildings is around $25 – $80 per square foot.

4 Amazing Metal Building Homes

Metal Buildings October 1, 2016

10 Amazing Metal Building Homes

Of all the building types, from timber frame to log homes to earth buildings, shipping containers, and so on, one of the sturdiest, most durable and reusable is metal building. Building with metal means the materials of the house can be cheaper, easier to set up, and that the material itself can even be used again later when it’s recycled to make something else.

Some metal buildings are a less expensive than other building styles, and there are many metal kit homes available from companies who often also do the set-up. They arrive on your site and quickly put your metal house up, or they could be prefabricated or partially prefabricated at the company’s factory and then transported out, meaning even less building time and less mess on site.

These metal homes are built by companies we’ve already indexed in our Metal Home Designers and Builders Directory. You can go there and search out the name of the company, and also find builders near your area.

A Complete Metal Building Home with a Pool and a Stable

Metal Buildings October 1, 2016

Metal Building Home with a Pool

Metal homes and other metal buildings are one of the options many people consider when weighing alternative house building styles. Steel construction has a number of benefits, including economical and environmental ones, but one of the things you don’t see much of with metal homes is large buildings with the comforts and amenities large homes often have, such as pools and stables, for example.

Here is a metal home that has just that, though. It’s a largish design with a ranch style, suiting the location you see it on. Mueller calls this their “Choice Series.”

This metal home, besides being a solid, sturdy construction, has a covered entrance / car port and a barn / stable for horses or livestock. It also has a large pool for entertainment and exercise.

The exterior finish of this metal house is gray painted cladding with a matte finish. The rust colors found elsewhere on the house lend a rustic aesthetic, combined with the metal roof clad, the deep burgundy yard around the pool and other natural tones on the homestead.

The barn / stable is also a metal building with the same matte grey painted exterior, set off against wood posts and finishing. That wood / metal contrast also appears inside the stable, where walls are wood cladded but the stables themselves are chest-high wood fences with metal grates above. They’ve also used some shingles and plants for rustic decor.

Matching the gravel driveway is a stone finished walkway between the pool and the stable. The pool area also has simply designed furniture and sparcely placed plants.

To see more of Mueller metal homes designs and work, find them in our directory of metal house builders.
